5K Run & 1.5 Mile Walk & Community Extravaganza

Tall Oaks at Reston's Executive Director, John Albert presents the check to the American Diabetes Association's Executive Director, Betty Digges. Daria Moore, the Director of Marketing Events & Community Relations for Tall Oaks and gold medal winner and Tall Oaks resident, Joell Lafave join in the celebration.

The 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk & Community Extravaganza benefiting the American Diabetes Association was a huge success! The rain did not dampen the spirits or the excitement of supporting such a wonderful cause. We had over 120 walkers and runners, 15 exhibitors and many members of the community.

We received generous monetary donations from participants, exhibitors and sponsors. Many individuals contributed food, music, and silent auction items as well. Thanks to the overwhelming support, we exceeded our goal and wrote a check to the American Diabetes Association for $10,000.

The money we raised will go towards diabetes research, advocacy and education.
